Sabeer Bhatia
Co-Founder and Chairman, Sabse Technologies; Co-Founder, Former President
and CEO of Hotmail Corp.
Sabeer Bhatia is Co-Founder and Chairman of Sabse Technologies, a provider
of Web conferencing software. A pioneer in the field of Web-based e-mail,
Bhatia co-founded Hotmail Corp. in 1996. As president and CEO, he guided
Hotmail's rapid rise to industry leadership and its eventual acquisition by
Microsoft in 1998. Today, Hotmail remains the world's largest e-mail
provider, with more than 220 million registered users. Bhatia's most recent
visionary project is the conception and creation of "NanoCity" in India, a
city that is being designed to bring together software development,
nanotechnology, biotechnology, energy and pharmaceutical research in one
sustainable location in Haryana State. Bhatia's contributions to the
Internet revolution have earned him widespread acclaim. He is the recipient
of many awards and accolades, including being named a "Global Leader of
Tomorrow" by the World Economic Forum. Bhatia received a B.S. degree from
the California Institute of Technology and an M.S. degree from Stanford
University.
