1980 - The first to receive a BS in EE from Caltech

Prior to 1980, undergrads in EE got a BS in Engineering. With the splitting of the EE dept from the rest of engineering, the first year that a BS in Electrical Engineering was give was in 1980. There were only 4 given as most students were unable to get all the new prerequisites done and they opted to get their degree using the old system. Of the 4, I was first alphabetically. Degrees were handed out at graduation alphabetically so, I believe, I am the first to receive a BS in EE from Caltech. If the same is true of MS and PhD degrees, then I am the first to get a degree of any kind in EE from Caltech.
